ISO container corners are installed on all shipping containers. They are the structural elements used to lift, move, and secure shipping containers. They can be used on ships, trains, or road vehicles. They are also used to connect shipping containers to each other, as is the case with container stacks on a container ship.
A container has eight ISO container corners:
- 4 upper corners which are necessary for handling the container by a spreader (lifting beam of port cranes)
- 4 lower corners necessary for securing the container on all types of support, train, boat and truck.
